International Women's Day: March 8, 2023

International Women's Day (IWD) is celebrated annually on March 8th to celebrate the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women around the world. It is also a day to raise awareness about gender equality and women's rights, and to highlight the ongoing struggles that women face in many parts of the world.

The origins of IWD can be traced back to the early 20th century, when women in Europe and the United States began campaigning for better working conditions, suffrage, and other rights. In 1908, the first National Women's Day was observed in the United States, and in 1910, the idea of an international women's day was proposed at an international women's conference in Copenhagen. Since then, IWD has grown into a global day of celebration and activism, with events and activities taking place all around the world. It is a day for women to come together, to share their stories and experiences, and to stand in solidarity with one another.

While much progress has been made towards gender equality in recent decades, there is still much work to be done. Women continue to face discrimination, harassment, and violence in many parts of the world. They are often underrepresented in positions of power and leadership, and face significant barriers to accessing education, healthcare, and economic opportunities. On International Women's Day, we celebrate the achievements of women and acknowledge the ongoing struggles that they face. We honor the trailblazers who came before us, and pledge to continue the fight for gender equality and women's rights. We stand in solidarity with women everywhere, and commit to building a more just and equitable world for all.

Whether it is deliberate or unconscious, bias makes it difficult for women to move ahead in their careers and even personal lives. Only knowing that bias exists isn't enough. Rather, action is needed to level the playing field. Thus, on International Women's Day 2023, here are top 4 wishes, messages and quotes to share with your loved ones.
